About the Museum
The Elsie Welter Natural History Museum is located on the first floor of the Integrated Science Center (ISC) at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. The museum was named after influential area bird-watcher, world traveller, and Concordia adjunct biology professor Elsie M. Welter. The collections housed at the museum contain specimens in the areas of ornithology, mammalogy, entomology, botany, and malacology. The museum is open for students and researchers at Concordia College, with public outreach programs underway.
Mission Statement
The Elsie Welter Natural History Museum at Concordia College seeks to further environmental education in the Fargo-Moorhead area by documenting, preserving, and researching regional and global specimens in order to promote biodiversity and conservation efforts.
